  • IDC Montenegro has started the activities on the realization of the project titled “Citizens registration of the Roma population”. The project is primarily aimed at assisting Roma population during registration process, that is to say obtaining of the necessary documents required for registration. In that way Roma persons in Montenegro can register at the Employment Agency, find the employment, get social and health security, enroll schools etc.
    The project is supported by Foundation Open Society Institute and it will be implemented from October 2007 until March 2008. 
  • In the first week of October, IDC Montenegro has started the distribution of the humanitarian aid in the refugee camp Konik I on Vrela Ribnicka. The humanitarian aid, weighing 20 tons, represents the donation from the Spanish non-governmental organization Movement for Peace-MPDL Aragon and it consists of food, clothes, footwear, blankets, school kits and toys. Donation is intended for the socially most vulnerable persons among refugee, IDPs and Roma population. In the upcoming period, besides Podgorica the aid will be distributed in Nikšić, Berane and Andrijevica in the premises of local Red Cross organizations.
