Initiative for Development and Cooperation, IDC Montenegro, is a non governmental organization established in Montenegro in 2007 by a local team of multidisciplinary professionals. Despite its recent establishment, IDC Montenegro represents the continuation of more than seven years experience of the Spanish NGO Movement for Peace (MPDL) in Montenegro.

IDC Montenegro staff, in its involvement with MPDL’s work in the last seven years, has leaded the implementation of different initiatives related to the overall improvement of the social, economical and legal conditions of refugees and IDPs in Montenegro and fostering the local development of civil society.

The main target group of IDC Montenegro actions at present is vulnerable population in general, and more specifically refugees, IDPs and Roma, Ashkaelia and Egyptian minorities in the country. IDC actions pursue to enhance the overall legal, social and economical situation of this population in mainstream society.

IDC Montenegro’s initiatives are supported in a regional level by MPDL Network in SE Europe. With ten offices and a transnational legal and social team of more than 70 workers, it represents one of the strongest networks for legal and social assistance in the region.
